William Penn’s volleyball team ended its six game home stand on a winning note with a 3-2 victory over Graceland at Penn Gymnasium. The scores were 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 22-25 and 15-7. Freshman Corrin Lepper had 17 kills to lead the Statesmen, who are now 4-4 in the Heart of America Conference and 16-7 overall. The Statesmen play at Evangel Friday night.
The Statesmen’s men’s golf team finished second Tuesday at the Porto Cima Invitational in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. Junior Zachary Chegwidden shot an even par 72 to tie for first place with a two day score of 149. Chegwidden lost the tiebreaker. Oscar Florez Martinez of the Statesmen finished third overall.
William Penn’s soccer teams will be at home this evening (10/3), taking on Grand View. The women’s game starts at 5, the men’s at 7:30 at Lacey Recreation Complex.
