PLUMBER WINS SECOND DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

Plumber Wins Second Defensive Player of the Week Award

OSKALOOSA — Harlan Plumber (Sr., Bryan, Texas, Exercise Science) was a nuisance to the opposing offense last Saturday and his efforts earned him Heart of America Athletic Conference Big Game Football Defensive Player of the Week honors Monday.

Plumber earned his second career laurel (both this year) after leading William Penn to a 37-16 win over Culver-Stockton last Saturday.

The senior topped the Statesmen in tackles with 12, but more impactfully, he forced two fumbles, one of which was recovered by the navy and gold.  Overall, WPU had four takeaways against the Wildcats.

Of Plumber’s 12 stops, nine were solos and one was for a loss.

For the year, Plumber leads the Statesmen with 68 tackles (48 solos, 20 assists, 9.5 for loss), one sack, three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.  He has had four double-digit tackle performances this fall.

The weekly award is the second for William Penn this year.
