OFFBEAT NEWS:
Mom Delivers A 14-Pound Baby
South Carolina couple Cindy Richmond and Arthur Keisler welcomed a new baby, but it was anything but a little bundle of joy. Colin Austin Keisler came in to the world weighing a whopping 14.4-pounds.
As the proud dad puts it, “he’s a toddler at 3 days old.” That isn’t too far off. The average baby weighs 7.5-pounds at birth, with the size of a four-or-five-month-old coming in closer to 14.4-pounds.
An unexpected hiccup for Cindy? The clothes she had with her at the hospital were too small for Colin. The new mom adds, “we actually had to send my mom to our house and pick up different sizes because I bought zero-to-three months and barely anything three-to-six, which is what he’s wearing right now.”

Argument Over Dead Raccoon Leads To Shooting
A man in Allyn, Washington found out the hard way that dog lovers can also be very trigger happy. The unidentified man discovered a dead raccoon and wanted to use it as bait for his crab pot. Naturally, he tied the roadkill to a rope and dragged it about 15-feet behind him along the highway to avoid the smell.
A pair of cars driving past him thought he was dragging a dead dog and pulled over to angrily confront him. A person in the second car that stopped pulled out a gun and shot the man twice in the leg. To make matters worse, one of the cars ran the unidentified man over while fleeing the scene.
So far, authorities have been able to track down one of the cars, but not the one carrying the shooter. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

Woman Tosses Coins In Plane Engine For Good Luck
Flying makes people nervous. An 80-year-old woman in China took her superstitions too far when she chucked coins into a plane’s engine for “blessings.”
Instead of good luck, however, the senior citizen’s move caused a five hour delay. Officials had to collect all the coins, nine in total, before the flight from Shanghai to Guangzhou could take off.
While it definitely led to a few headaches, passengers should be thankful for the delay. If the coins had been sucked up into the engine there could have been serious problems, including full on failure.

STUPID CRIMINALS:
Man spends three months in jail over drywall:
Back in March, Karlos Cashe was pulled over in Florida for what he thought was going to be a minor traffic violation. Instead, the arresting officer spotted white powder on his seat and floorboard. Initially, the powder came back positive for cocaine and a drug dog found what tested positively for marijuana. Cashe was already on probation at the time on marijuana and cocaine charges from back in 2015 so he was arrested and denied bond. Cashe maintained his innocence and a full three months later, lab tests on the substances collected in Cashe’s vehicle came back with results showing there were no drugs in the car at the time of his arrest. In other words – Cashe had been sitting in jail over nothing. And the substance? Powdered drywall. He’s now a free man and is working to make sure this insanely stupid mistake doesn’t happen to anyone else.
Wanted man hands cop a “get out of jail free” card:
It turns out even criminals have a sense of humor. A cop in Dakota County, Minnesota nabbed an unidentified man on an outstanding warrant. That’s when the creative crook handed the officer a “get out of jail free” card from Monopoly, explaining he carried the card “just in case.” As the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office says, “A for effort!”
Man gets arrested after setting up a shooting range on his balcony:
Believe it or not, you can’t set up an impromptu shooting range on your balcony. At least not in Greece. Athens police have arrested a 72-year-old man who turned his home in a densely populated area into a place for target practice. What’s more, he owned his guns illegally. A sweep of the unidentified man’s apartment turned up 21 shotguns, most of them licensed legally, a sword, a silencer, an axe, a Taser, knives and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. The man has been arrested and charged with firearms law violations and attempted grievous bodily harm.
