The City of Oskaloosa’s Rental Housing Inspection Program will soon go into effect. All residential rental properties within the City of Oskaloosa are required to be registered and will need to undergo regular inspections. Starting in July 2017, landlords will need to register their rental properties. Registration forms can be obtained at City Hall, the Public Works facility, or on the city’s website: www.oskaloosaiowa.org/index.aspx?nid=461. Completed forms and registration fees will need to be turned in or mailed to the city’s Public Works facility at 804 South D Street.
The third and final public informational meeting before the program begins has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 27. The meeting will be held at 6:00 PM at the Oskaloosa Public Library (301 South Market Street) in the 3rd Floor Meeting Room. The meeting will feature the same content as the previous two meetings, with topics of registering properties, paying registration fees, scheduling inspections, and complying with inspection requirements. The meeting is specifically oriented to answer landlord questions, but all are welcome to attend.
