PELLA MAN ARRESTED FOR NO-CONTACT ORDER VIOLATION

Pella Man Arrested for No-Contact Order Violation

KNOXVILLE – A Pella man was arrested last week after allegedly violating a no-contact order while in possession of shotgun shells as a felon.

Court documents state that Knoxville Police officers were dispatched to a residence on East Robinson Street on Thursday, October 8, at approximately 10:36 AM, regarding a violation of a no-contact order. The order was confirmed to be active, protecting the homeowner from 75-year-old Robert Funk.

The victim told police that Funk had pulled into the driveway of their residence, exited his vehicle, knocked on a side door of the residence, and then left. The incident was reportedly captured on door camera footage and witnessed by multiple neighbors.

Funk was later found by authorities in Pella and taken into custody. Officers found several 12-gauge shotgun shells in Funk’s vehicle, and Funk allegedly admitted to going to the protected party’s residence and to possessing the shotgun shells. The active no-contact order stipulates that Funk is prohibited from being in the immediate vicinity of the protected party’s residence. Court records also state that Funk is a convicted felon with a prior domestic violence conviction who is prohibited from possessing ammunition.

Funk now faces a charge of Dominion or Control of a Firearm or Offensive Weapon by a Domestic Abuse Offender, a Class D felony, as well as Violation of a No-Contact Order, a simple misdemeanor.
