OTTUMWA – An Ottumwa man is behind bars after allegedly making indecent contact with a 10-year-old child.

Court documents state that on the evening of Sunday, August 9, 21-year-old Jacobe Deiters pushed his hand on the victim’s thigh in an aggressive manner, without consent. Dieters reportedly proceeded to ask the victim questions that were sexual in nature. The incident allegedly took place at a residence on Joe Lord Memorial Drive in Ottumwa.

Dieters was arrested and charged with Indecent Contact with a Child – Over Clothing (aggravated misdemeanor). He remains in custody in the Wapello County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
