DAVIS COUNTY – The body of a missing Davis County man was found over the weekend.
According to the Davis County Sheriff’s Office, a search-and-rescue group conducting a grid search in rural Davis County located the body of 76-year-old Alvin Haines on Saturday. Haines, who had dementia, was reported missing on the evening of Thursday, June 25.
Haines’ body has been transferred to the State Medical Examiner where a cause and manner of death will be determined.
“The Davis County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend its condolences to Alvin Haines’ family and loved ones during this difficult time. The Sheriff’s Office would also like to thank all those who assisted in any way in the search for Mr. Haines,” Sheriff Zach Dunlavy said in a press release.
No further information has been released at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
