CORALVILLE — Iowa State (8-1, 0-0 Big 12) downed Iowa (7-3, 0-0 Big Ten) on the Hawkeye’s home court by set scores of 25-23, 25-13, 21-25, 21-25, 15-12, ISU’s fourth-straight win over Iowa. Iowa State now leads the all-sport Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series 5-2.
Morgan Brandt marked the match breaking the barrier of 3,000 career assists, becoming the just the fourth in Cyclone history to do so. Brandt had 44 assists on the night and now totals 3,031.
True freshman Alea Goolsby put up a match-leading 17 kills for her fifth match in double figures to cross over 100 kills on the season totaling 105. Amiree Hendricks-Walker had a season-high 15 at .500 hitting while Lilly Wachholz hit 14 as three had 10-plus kills.
Rachel Van Gorp had her 14th match in a row with 10-plus digs, entering double figures in the second set. The libero also had a season-high four aces.
