OSKALOOSA — The Southern Iowa Speedway will be entering the busiest month of the racing calendar with four racing events over the next three weeks. Wednesday, July 9th will get the month started with Teeter Construction and Dirt Works and J. Teeter Trucking sponsoring Kids Night at the races. The kids will be provided with a special prizes courtesy of 10G (Dustin Griffiths) racing and Scharky Frame. The kids will also have an opportunity to ride around the track in a race car prior to the races. In addition during the intermission the 2025 Southern Iowa Speedway Hall of Fame Class will be honored, the five inductees, Ken Walton, Mike Robinson, Kerry Schark, Merv Chandler and Scott VanBuskirk will all be recognized. In addition to the weekly classes of cars the Vintage late Models will be back on the Mahaska County Monster ½ mile dirt.
The Southern Iowa Fair will be highlighted by 2 nights of racing this year. The annual Caleb Hammond Memorial sponsored by Outer Limits Truck Repair will be held on Wednesday, July 16th. This annual event in memory of dedicated young race fan Caleb Hammond is always one of the highlights of the year as all the drivers get an opportunity to race for a greatly expanded purse in front of a large Southern Iowa Fair Crowd.
On July 17th the Southern Iowa Fair will present the return of Sprint Car Racing with the Sprint Invaders headlining the race program sponsored by Kraig Ford. It has been nearly ten years since the Sprint Invaders have been at Osky and the traveling 360 Sprints promise to put on a great show. The Sprints will be joined by the SIS Hobby Stocks and Stock cars.
The month of racing will conclude with the Mahaska Season Championships being run on Wednesday, July 23rd. All five weekly classes will wrap up their point races and 2025 Track Championships will be crowned.
All race events in July will see hot laps take to the track at 7:15 pm with racing to follow.
The Southern Iowa Speedway will rest until the annual Musco Lighting Fall Challenge which will be run October 10th and 11th.
