Jethro Tull have announced a new live album, Live From Baloise Session.
The Live From Baloise Session album is a live recording of Jethro Tull’s performance at the Basel Festival in 2008.
It is being released for the first time in audio format, though previously available as a DVD. The album will be released on June 13th in Europe as a 2CD Digipak and heavy-weight 2LP gatefold edition as well as worldwide for digital download and streaming. The U.S. physical release will follow on August 15th.
“Aqualung,” the first live track from the upcoming album, was released on Wednesday. It will be available as digital download and stream when pre-ordering the album.
“As always, the prospect of a live recording places a greater-than-usual sense of concentration and responsibility on the musicians.”, says Jethro Tull frontman Ian Anderson. “Added stress for us perhaps but we had the determination to match. The easy-going informality of this fine concert venue in the beautiful city of Basel transfers to the band and audience alike providing a memorable occasion for all.”
