Bruce Springsteen performed along with Smokey Robinson and John Fogerty at the American Music Honors.
The annual American Music Honors, organized by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Centre, this year honored Robinson, Fogerty, Emmylou Harris, Tom Morello, and Joe Ely. Everyone except Ely attended the event and performed classic songs. The event took place on Saturday, April 28th.
The night, hosted by Brian Williams, also featured a surprise performance from 2024 honoree Jackson Browne. The latter joined Springsteen, Morello and the house band — The Disciples of Soul under the direction of Marc Ribler — for a encore of “Take It Easy,” the Eagles classic Browne co-wrote with Glenn Frey.
Springsteen and Fogerty played the Creedence Clearwater Revival classics “Bad Moon Rising,” “Proud Mary” and “Fortunate Son.”
Springsteen and Motown legend Robinson then played “Going To A Go-Go” together, before the Boss joined Browne for “Take It Easy” and Morello for “The Ghost Of Tom Joad” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out.”
