Crooks Earns Second Big 12 Weekly Honor

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State women’s basketball sophomore Audi Crooks has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week for the second time this season and fourth of her career. The 6-3 center became the fastest Cyclone women’s basketball player to score 1,000 career points (49 games) last week and the third fastest Big 12 player to reach the mark.

Crooks averaged 31.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting over 63 percent from the floor last week. In Iowa State’s 78-64 win over Kansas on New Year’s Day, she poured in a season-high-tying 33 points on 13-of-18 shooting (.722) from the floor. The Algona, Iowa native recorded her 400th career made field goal in the game as well. With the 23rd of her game-high 29 points against Utah, Crooks became ISU’s 35th 1,000 point scorer. She reached the mark faster than any other Cyclone women’s basketball player, as Ashley Joens held the previous best in 64 games.

Crooks and the Cyclones travel to Arizona State and Arizona this week, meeting the Sun Devils on Wednesday before making the trek to Tucson for Saturday’s contest with the Wildcats. Tip-off in Tempe is set for 7:30 p.m. while the game against Arizona is slated for 3 p.m.
