OSKALOOSA — The William Penn men’s lacrosse team stays in the top five as the NAIA’s fourth top-10 poll was released Wednesday.
WPU (12-1, 2-0 Heart), which has won 10 games in a row, slipped one spot to #5 in the country with 64 points. Cumberlands (Ky.) took over the #4 ranking likely due to forcing overtime in a loss against #1 Reinhardt (Ga.).
William Penn is one of three representatives from the Heart of America Athletic Conference that continue to be in the poll. St. Ambrose, at #11 unofficially, and Benedictine, at #12 unofficially, are in the receiving votes section as well.
Reinhardt remains #1 in the nation with 82 points and all seven first-place votes. Keiser (Fla.), which is the only team to defeat WPU this season, is second, while Webber International (Fla.) is third and Cumberlands (Ky.) is fourth.
WPU travels to Marshall, Mo. Wednesday to face Missouri Valley in Heart play at 7 p.m.
