The regional pairing for the Oskaloosa girls’ basketball team came out on Monday afternoon, and the Indians should be excited with the draw.
Oskaloosa will get to host the first round of Class 4A Region 8 against Bondurant-Farrar on Wednesday, February 15th, at 7 PM.
Although the Indians are just 2-14 on the season, they should be considered the favorite against Bondurant-Farrar, as B-F has a winless record of 0-17 this year. They only have one senior and one junior on the varsity roster, and are relying heavily on large freshman and sophomore classes.
While Oskaloosa is only focusing on that home matchup with B-F, #4 Pella is waiting in the semifinals after being awarded a bye.
The Lady Dutch have been #1 all season until this week, and despite being 13-4 on the year, it could be said they haven’t quite found their groove. Pella will play the winner of Osky and B-F at home on Saturday, February 18th, at 7 PM.
On the other side, #11 Ballard (12-4) received a bye. They’ll face either ADM (6-11) or Harlan (5-9) in the semifinals at home.
You can hear all of the Oskaloosa games on 99.5 FM/740 AM KMZN, radiokmzn.com, and KMZN mobile app, with postseason coverage on February 15th beginning at 6:45 PM.
