Jethro Tull have announced a 40th-anniversary deluxe edition of their 14th album The Broadsword and the Beast.
The anniversary edition will feature demos, rough mixes, live recordings, studio sessions and new mixes from Porcupine Tree founder Steven Wilson.
The collection drops on September 1 and will be available as a five-CD, three-DVD “Monster Edition,” a three-LP “Vinyl Edition” and digitally.
The Broadsword and the Beast was originally released on April 10, 1982. The album is a cross between the dominant synthesizer sound of the 1980s and the folk-influenced style that Jethro Tull used in the previous decade. The album peaked at No. 19 on Billboard 200 chart.
Meanwhile, Jethro Tull is currently on a tour of Europe and will hit the U.S. this summer, starting with a show in Highland Park, Illinois, on August 18.
