Oskaloosa High’s softball team split two games at Saturday’s (6/18) Indian Classic at Lacey Sports Complex. The Indians started by facing Creston, ranked eighth in the state in Class 4A. Creston defeated the Indians 6-3…thanks to three runs in the top of the seventh inning. Alexis Price homered for Osky in that game. Later on Saturday, the Indians took on Louisa-Muscatine—ranked ninth in Class 2A. Osky won that game 9-5, with Olivia Gordon’s three run homer in the fourth inning the key hit for the Indians. Presley Blommers was the winning pitcher.
The Indians also lost a 7-6 decision at Newton on Friday night (6/17).
Oskaloosa is now 8-12 on the season. The Indians will host fifth-ranked Norwalk Monday (6/20) in a doubleheader. You can hear both games on KBOE-FM with coverage at 5:20 and the first pitch at 5:30.
In baseball, Oskaloosa lost at Newton 16-4 on Friday. The Indians are now 7-12 on the year. They’ll host Norwalk in a doubleheader Monday night at 5:30 at the High School.
