Oskaloosa’s girls’ track team took first place Tuesday (4/5) at the Fairfield Relays…with ten individual champions. Maleah Walker was a triple winner, in the long jump, 100 meters and 200 meters…as well as being part of Osky’s 4 by 400 meter relay team that took first—with teammates Jordan Czerwinski, Hannah Quang and Gracie DeRonde.Faith DeRonde took first in both the shot put and discus and was also part of the Indians’ 4 by 200 meter relay team that took first—along with Macie Krier, Aby Thompson and Jordan Czerwinski. The Indians’ Anna Coniglio won the 400 meters and was part of the 4 by 800 relay team that took first—with Evelyn Adam, Hannah Nelson and Addy Carter. Osky’s Jordan Czerwinski also took first place in the 400 hurdles.
Oskaloosa High’s boys’ track team competed in wet conditions Tuesday at the Williamsburg Invitational, placing 11th out of 16 teams. The Indians placed two in the long jump with Riley Humphrey in third place and Waylon Bolibaugh fifth. Aden Scott was fourth in the 1600 meter run. Wyatt Grubb was fifth in the shot put. Osky’s shuttle hurdle relay team of Tatum Westercamp, Dom Piersel, Waylon Bolibaugh and Riley Humphrey finished sixth and the Indians’ 4 by 200 relay team of Christian Cavan, Tatum Westercamp, Colin Snitker and Waylon Bolibaugh was in eighth place.
The Indians boys and girls will host the Oskaloosa Relays Thursday (4/7) at Statesmen Community Stadium.
