Oskaloosa High’s volleyball team is looking for its first trip to the State tournament since 2006. The Indians host Pella Tuesday night (10/26) in the Class 4A Region 3 championship game. This won’t be the first time Osky and Pella have met this season. In September, Oskaloosa defeated the Dutch in a tournament at Southeast Polk. Later in the month, Pella beat Oskaloosa 3-1 in a Little Hawkeye Conference match. Two weeks ago at the Conference tournament, the Indians beat Pella for the tournament title. Oskaloosa Coach Jennifer Comfort says Tuesday’s game should be quite a battle.
“We’re both evenly matched teams, we’re both very, very familiar with each other, we’re both competitive and we both want that green banner just as badly as the other team. I’m looking forward to it. It should be a really good night and I’m just really excited to get going.”
You can hear the Oskaloosa versus Pella volleyball game on KBOE-FM. Live coverage starts at 6:45 with the first serve at 7. Tickets can only be purchased online.
