Pella Christian’s football team won’t be playing Friday night (9/17). The Eagles’ home game against Van Buren County has been cancelled because of a high rate of absenteeism at Van Buren County among the football team. The game will go into the record book as a forfeit win for Pella Christian and improve the Eagles record to 4-0.
In games that are scheduled for Friday, Oskaloosa puts its 3-0 record on the line at Keokuk. Indians Coach Brett Doud is happy with his team’s defense play over the first three weeks and pointed to senior linebacker Colin Snitker, who was in on 17 tackles in last week’s Osky victory over Burlington.
“Colin’s a guy we haven’t talked about much this year. We are a team D focus, but Colin is definitely a captain on that defense. He works hard, he goes everywhere and he’s not afraid to hit. We love having him as an anchor in the linebacker spot on our defense.”
The Indians and Keokuk kick off at 7:30pm Friday. You can hear the game on KBOE-FM with coverage starting at 7:15.
