The Oskaloosa Indians football team has its biggest test of the young season Friday (9/10) when they host Burlington at Statesmen Community Stadium. Both teams are 2-0 on the year and Burlington features running back Bryant Williams, who has rushed for 432 yards and seven touchdowns in just two games. Indians Coach Brett Doud says Williams is the real deal.
“He’s skilled. I watched him on film. If we don’t make sure we know who he is at all times, he could do the same to us. We’ve got to make sure that we’re dialed in, communicate and line up and then play.”
Friday’s kickoff time is 7:30. You can hear the Indians and Burlington on KBOE-FM with coverage starting at 7:15.
Elsewhere in high school football Friday, Sigourney-Keota puts its 2-0 record on the line at 2-0 Centerville. The Cobras are ranked fifth by Associated Press in Class 1A, while Centerville is ranked sixth in Class 2A. That game will be broadcast on KMZN AM & FM.
