Oskaloosa’s boys’ golf team hosted a tournament Tuesday (4/27) at Edmundson Golf Course. Norwalk won the meet with Pella fourth, Oskaloosa fifth, followed by Newton in sixth place and Grinnell seventh. Sigourney was 11th and Pella Christian 13th. Pella’s Will Simpson was medalist with a 77; Oskaloosa’s Joe Glasgow tied for 13th with an 84. Sigourney’s Josh Mohr shot 88 to tie for 23rd place.
Switching to soccer, Pella scored three goals in a 14 minute span of the second half to beat Oskaloosa’s boys 4-0 at Drost Field. Isaac Semini had a goal and three assists for the Dutch. Pella is now 9-2 on the season; Oskaloosa is 5-5, 0-4 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Indians boys host Knoxville on Thursday.
In girls’ soccer, Pella blanked Oskaloosa 9-0 in Pella. The Indians fall to 2-5 on the year and 0-3 in the Conference. Osky’s girls are off until next Tuesday, when they host Indianola.
Moving to the tennis courts, Oskaloosa’s girls defeated Newton 7-4 Tuesday in Oskaloosa. The Indians got victories in singles from Makenna Schaffner, Amanda Fay, Lucy Roach and Presley Blommers….and doubles wins from the teams of Aubree Blanco and Makenna Schaffner, Jillian Jennings and Amanda Fay and Lucy Roach and Presley Blommers. Osky’s girls’ tennis team is now 4-2 on the season.
And in boys’ tennis, Newton defeated Oskaloosa 8-3. No individual results are available at this time.
