Three years ago, Jenna Santi was captain of the William Penn University women’s basketball team. This week, she was hired as the Statesmen’s head coach. Santi played four years at William Penn, then served as a graduate assistant coach during her senior year after graduating in December 2019, before moving up to assistant coach the last two seasons. Santi says she is ready to become the ninth head coach in Statesmen women’s basketball history.
“I felt very confident about what I can bring into this program and I just showed my vision and my goals for the university and for my team. And it felt good to get my name out there and show them what I have. Yeah, that’s how I felt about it. I felt pretty confident and had to go with my gut.”
Santi replaces Steve Williamson, who stepped down as head coach following this season.
