Cheap Trick have announced their new album In Another World and dropped the lead single “Light Up The Fire.”
In Another World will be the rock band’s 20th studio album and their first since 2017’s We’re All Right! and Christmas Christmas.
“Light up the fire/The heat starts coming. It’s getting so hot/The sirens are calling/You’ve got what you’ve got/The flame’s burning brighter/So light up the fire/But don’t burn our love to the ground,” lead singer Robin Zander sings on the new track.
“We’ve made a lot of records, and we just continue making records — for ourselves mostly, but also for our immediate fans that still cling to us,” Zander said. “It’s something, I think, that is our lifeblood; it keeps us going… And I believe that we still make quality records. If we didn’t, we probably wouldn’t do it anymore.”
The 13-track album, which includes a cover of John Lennon’s “Gimme Some Truth,” is scheduled to release via BMG on April 9 in multiple formats.
