Tyler Miller’s one yard touchdown run with 2:54 to play gave Oskaloosa a 28-21 victory at Newton Friday night (10/4). The senior rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns and threw for a score as the Indians took a 21-0 halftime lead. But an injury to defensive end Walker Newman late in the second quarter seemed to stun the Indians as Newton rallied to tie the game at 21-all with 6:57 to go. Oskaloosa would drive 69 yards in eight plays for the go-ahead score and hold off Newton’s final drive of the game. The Indians are now 4-2 on the season and 2-0 in district play. Newton drops to 3-3 and 1-1 in the district. This coming Friday (10/11), Oskaloosa faces the only other unbeaten team in district play—Pella on the road. We’ll have that game on KBOE-FM.
