Rian Yates made two free throws with 2-point-8 seconds to play to give Oskaloosa’s boys a 50-49 win at Pella Christian Thursday night (2/7).  The Indians had trailed Pella Christian by ten points late in the second quarter before battling back in the second half.  Yates had 23 points for Oskaloosa; Josh Van Gorp had 12 for Pella Christian.  Oskaloosa’s now 11-5 overall and 7-3 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.  Saturday afternoon (2/9), the Indians host Norwalk; it will be Senior Day.  The boys’ game tips off at 4:30 on Saturday.

Oskaloosa’s girls’ basketball team lost at Pella Christian 55-34 Thursday night.  Marleigh Denburger had 11 points to lead Oskaloosa, while Emma Huisman had 16 for Pella Christian.  Oskaloosa’s girls’ will host Norwalk on Saturday.  Once again that is Senior Day.  The girls’ game tips off at 3; you can hear both games on KBOE-FM and KBOEradio.com; our coverage starts at 2:45pm  tomorrow.
