After starting the season ranked number one in the state, Oskaloosa High’s boys’ basketball team has dropped out of the Associated Press top ten. The Indians are three points shy of a place in this week’s Class 3A top ten. Norwalk from the Little Hawkeye Conference is ranked second in Class 3A and Pella is fifth.
Also in the AP boys’ basketball rankings, Pella Christian is ranked tenth in Class 2A; while in 1A Montezuma holds on to the number two spot.
Monday night (2/4) in high school basketball, Oskaloosa’s girls lost to fourth ranked Grinnell 70-22. Macy Harris had 28 points to lead Grinnell; Ashley Drost had ten to lead Oskaloosa. Boys’ basketball last night: Norwalk over Pella Christian 59-50, Ankeny Christian over Albia 57-39, Chariton edged EBF 53-49, Davis County over Cardinal-Eldon 61-49, HLV defeated Tri-County 62-40, Lynnville-Sully got by Belle Plaine 47-44, Mount Pleasant beat Ottumwa 47-39, PCM beat Nevada 77-49.
