“Our team is proud to have the opportunity to be a part of recognizing somebody who has been this great for our country.”
That’s Musco Lighting President Joe Crookham talking about the Oskaloosa-based company providing special lighting outside the US Capitol for President George H.W. Bush’s funeral. Crookham says Musco got the call Saturday morning (12/1) to go to Washington. By Sunday night (12/2), two trucks staffed by three people had the lighting up and shining. Crookham says Musco’s past experience with television networks helped them get this job.
“We have been working with them for many years and so it’s very common when they need something of that sort that they call us. NBC was the one heading up the operation for all the television people. it’s become pretty commonplace for us to do that sort of thing.”
Crookham adds that Musco also set up mobile lighting when President Bush was inaugurated in 1989.
